Our Role at Cresson

As of January 1, 2026 Players Wanted Airsoft assumed responsibility for the care and management of the Cresson Sanatorium and Prison property.

Our immediate priorities include:

  • Securing buildings against weather and deterioration

  • Addressing roofs, doors, and windows

  • Establishing safe, controlled access to the site

  • Creating sustainable ways for the public to experience Cresson without compromising its future

This is not a short-term project. Every decision is made with long-term preservation in mind.

What We Do (and Don’t Do)

While Players Wanted Airsoft is best known for organized airsoft events, airsoft is only one part of the broader vision for Cresson.

The site supports:

  • Historic tours

  • Photography access

  • Paranormal investigations

  • Preservation-focused events

  • Carefully planned future experiences

We do not rush development, allow uncontrolled access, or sacrifice historic structures for convenience or spectacle.

What Is Airsoft?

Airsoft is a recreational activity where participants take part in structured, team-based scenarios using replica devices that fire small, biodegradable BBs. Gameplay emphasizes strategy, communication, and sportsmanship.

At Cresson, any airsoft-related activity is planned with strict rules, limited access, and preservation safeguards in place.

Our Approach

Cresson is a large, fragile, and historically significant site. Responsible stewardship requires:

  • Clear boundaries

  • Controlled access

  • Ongoing maintenance

  • Transparency with the public

We believe a site like this survives only if it is actively cared for, not left closed or unmanaged.

Moving Forward

We are committed to keeping Cresson standing, accessible, and respected - for historians, photographers, paranormal investigators, preservationists, and visitors drawn to its history.

Tour dates, investigations, and special events are added as the site allows. Volunteer opportunities and additional access options will be announced as work continues.
